OpisHalebidu monuments map, 1930 survey, the Dorasamudra of Hoysala dynasty.jpg
English: Halebid is now a small town. It was a major prosperous city before the 14th-century CE.
This map shows the name and locations of major historic monuments in Halebid. Typically, visitors and scholars focus on the Hoysalesvara temple – the largest and best known monument here. Near it, within few hundred meters are three Jain temples and the Kedaresvara temple. Further west and north are additional temples, ruins and mounds of destroyed Hindu and Jain temples.
The original palace garden and ruins are also marked in this map.
Farther up, all around the historic city were fort walls (except the Dorasamudra side). This is not marked on the map above. Ruins and remains can be seen.
For a more complete map including the fort walls, see Annual Report of the Archaeological Survey of India 1930. This map is partly based on this source.
For an even older survey map, see the Mackenzie Collection map for "Halla Bede" published in 1806 CE (WD 2630, the British Library).
